Denying the Faith?

November 2, 2014

Summary

James was a man who knew what it was like to be persecuted. In his exhortation to Christians to ‘hold their faith in Jesus’, he surprisingly shifts the focus of his letter to the sin of partiality. He exposes the sin of partiality, explains the foolishness of partiality, and implies the end of partiality as we understand Jesus to be the Lord of glory.

Questions for further discussion

Why does James consider partiality to be such a big deal?

How does the truth of Jesus put an end to partiality?
