Mission & Maturity
Mark Howard
Discipleship includes a process of moving people toward maturity in Christ by engaging, evangelizing, establishing and equipping them. We regularly run into people who in all kinds of different place along that process. In Acts 18:24-19:10 we encounter two such groups and discover how God moves them forward.
The Mission Under Scrutiny
Mark Howard
As we question the Gospel, we find that the Gospel questions us–pointing out the inconsistencies in our lives, challenging many of the things we think we believe. Today, we hear how Paul addresses three big questions posed to the Scriptures by the philosophical Athenians: is Christianity ignorance, is Christianity inconsistent, and is Christianity inferior?

Mark Howard

Our passage today demonstrates this as Paul and Barnabas part ways during their missionary work and as we see Paul and Timothy wisely avoiding unnecessary conflict.

To answer these questions, Pastor Mark Howard describes the events leading up to the Jerusalem Council recounted in Acts 15, unpacks the Scriptual argument for the Gospel taking place there, and how the council […]

Paul and Barnabas’ account of their time in Iconium and Lystra shows us three marks of being successful in spreading the Gospel: enduring patiently amidst suffering, exalting Christ amid apparent success, and equipping disciples for the challenges […]
