Waiting is never easy. It can easily lead to discouragement and feelings of despair. As Christians, we are waiting for the Day of the Lord. 2 Peter 3:1-13 encourages us with the truth that Christ’s return is coming, while also calling us to wait with faithful obedience.

Many of the errors we encounter on the day to day basis are inconsequential – a spelling mistake here, a slight miscalculation there. When it comes to Christian truth, 2 Peter 2 warns us that error is much more serious. Peter also encourages us that God’s truth will ultimately triumph.

It’s easy to feel discouraged or uncertain as we look to the future. As believers in Christ, 2 Peter 1:12-21 reveals one thing can be absolutely certain of as we look forward!

“Let go and let God” – is that the approach we should take when it comes to growing in maturity? Peter suggests otherwise as we consider the call to strive for growth in 2 Peter 1:3-15.

In 2 Peter, we discover that God’s will for us is to grow in grace and come to maturity in our faith. The opening verses of the letter help us understand what this growth in grace looks like.
