As King Jesus enters Jerusalem, he assesses Israel’s ‘fruit’ and declares an end to their empty religion.

In light of everything Jesus has taught so far, we might expect the disciples to finally ‘get it’. As it turns out, what we see in Mark 10:32-52 is the continued blindness of the disciples but the surprising discipleship of a blind man.

Jesus explains his mission for a second time. The disciples fail to understand but Jesus uses this as an opportunity to teach about the path of TRUE greatness.

Failures can present the greatest opportunities for success. As long as we understand that being a ‘successful’ disciple of Jesus means turning from proud self-reliance and depending on Him in prayer.
