Please join us in praising God for His provision of our new location. We are so thankful for your ongoing prayers and are excited about what the Lord has in store in the months ahead. We thought it would be helpful to provide a brief FAQ about our upcoming move.
Where are we moving?
We are moving to Church of the Good Shepherd UCC, 135 Quarry Rd, Alburtis, PA 18011. This will also be location of our church office and where we will hold other church events moving forward.
When are we moving?
After a church lunch THIS Sunday (April 14th) we will be loading up to move our things over to Church of the Good Shepherd. There will be an ‘open house’ at 2:30pm to get to know the new space before we begin worship there on the 21st. If you are able to bring a high capacity vehicle to help with the move, please contact the deacon (deacons@westvalleypres.org) to let them know.
When is our first service there?
Our first Sunday at Church of the Good Shepherd will be April 21st. Sunday school begins at 1:30pm and worship at 2:30pm.
Why Sunday afternoon?
Through the work of our Search Team, we are confident the Lord has led us to Church of the Good Shepherd. They are kindly opening their facilities to us on Sunday afternoons and during the week. While this is a big change, we are excited to see how the Lord will use it to grow us in depth and number. Please watch this short interview with Isaac Moore for some encouraging thoughts on the transition. Will we still have Sunday School?
There are plenty of classrooms available. Adults and Kids Sunday school will continue to be offered before our worship service. These will take place at 1:30pm, worship will be at 2:30pm. On our first Sunday (April 21st) there will be kids classes but no adult class.
Will this change be permanent?
When we first began meeting at Bethany Church, we had no idea how long the Lord would have us there. For four years the Lord has used Bethany’s hospitality to help grow our church family. In a similar way, we aren’t sure how long we will be at Church of the Good Shepherd. That said, we believe the Lord will continue to lead and provide for us and are excited by how eager Good Shepherd are to host us. The elders will continue to assess details including our service time to best serve our congregation and reach our community. We will also be taking steps to pursue a more long term location in God’s time.
Will we have a church office?
Yes. Church of the Good Shepherd are providing an office for our pastor and administrative staff. We will be able to use other space for groups and events during the week.
Will the church mailing address / phone number change?
No. Our mailing address will remain the same: PO Box 3741, Allentown, PA 18106; and our office phone number – (610) 421-8066.
Please pray for our testimony to our new host church, for fresh gospel opportunities with new neighbors, and that the Lord will keep us united as we ‘strive side by side for the faith of the gospel’ in Alburtis (Phil 1:27).
